Part One: Finding Books
Browsing the Catalogs
The books on this site are divided by catagory into catalogs and sub catalogs. Within those catalogs, the books are listed in alphbetical order by the author's last name. In cases where there is more than one author, the book is listed under the name of first author listed in the book. Anthologies and books that have no author are listed by the editor's name instead. If neither an author's nor an editor's name can be determined then the book is listed at the top of the first catalog page. It's unlikely that you will find the same book listed in two or more places.
Searching the Catalogs
Our search engine is a beta version that is still in development. It has certain limitations that can be challenging for users. For example, if you perform a search for "John Jones," the search results page will show listings for each "John," each "Jones," and each "John Jones" in the catalog. That can be very frustrating; we apologize for the inconveniece. We are working on the problem.
Part Two: Using the Shopping Cart
Each item for sale at LughnassadhBooks is displayed with a "Buy Now" button. Clicking on that button will add that item to your shopping cart and display the current cart on the screen (see below). In all, there are four main screens in our shopping cart program.
Adding Items to Cart
When you click the "Buy Now" button, you are taken to a page that displays the newly added item -- including the title, author, copyright/manufacturing date, our stock number, and the price (USD). You may then continue shopping, view your cart or move right on to check out by clicking on the appropriate button at the bottom of the cart.
View Cart
When you access your cart with the "View Cart" button, you will see a display of all your selected items, including the title, author, copyright/manufacturing date, our stock number, and the price for each item. Also displayed is the subtotal price for your order. From this screen, you can remove items from the shopping cart by selecting "Remove" from the drop-down menu and clicking the "Remove Items" button. You can also either continue shopping or check out.
Check Out
To complete your order, you will need to navigate through four screens.
- Choose your State or Enter your Province/State if you're outside the USA. Then select your country and click the "Continue" button. These fields are required in order for the shopping cart to correctly process your order.
- Fill in your name and shipping information. Choose your payment and shipping preferences. Then press the "Continue" button for the total cost for your order (including shipping charges, which are dependent on the shipping address, and sales tax for New York residents.
- To complete the order process, you must click the "Submit Order" button. You can go back to add or subtract items, or cancel altogether, at any time before you submit the order. By clicking the "Submit Order" button, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of Payment, Shipping and Returns posted on this website.
Order Reciept
Once you submit your order, the shopping cart program will display your reciept, including your order number. Please print out a copy of your receipt for your records.
At the bottom of the receipt you will find is further instructions for making payment based upon your payment preference:
- A link to PayPal.com for those who would like to pay for their order electronicaly (credit cards, echecks, paypal instent payments). You will need to enter your billing address once you go to PayPal.
- The snail mail address for sending payments.

Important Notes:
- Our email reciepts are hand processed — so, you know that a real, live human being has actually seen your order. See Part Three, paragraph 4.
- You need to make sure that you can recieve our emails. Whether its a spam filter or a white listing in your email client you need to make sure that the invoice, reciept, tracking information can get to you.
Part Three: Additional Check Out Help
- You will find your Order ID Number next to the order total price. Please use this Order ID Number in all correspondence with LughnassadhBooks.com regarding your order.
- Don't forget to submit the order form to complete the ordering process and reserve the item(s) you want to purchase.
- Sale Items: Any or all sale items ordered will be held in reserve at the posted sale price, until payment is received or the order is cancled.
- Payment Preferences:
PayPal: You can expedite processing by making your PayPal payment immediately after placing your order. Just click on the "PayPal Check Out" button. Otherwise, if you choose PayPal or credit card as your preferred payment option, you will receive a PayPal money request by email.
Money Order/Cashiers Check or Personal Checks (drawn on US Banks Only): Please print the invoice displayed at the end of the ordering process and mail it with your payment to:

- If you ask for an emailed receipt, you will receive it within 24 hours. The emailed receipt/invoice may contain further instructions for completing your purchase. Emailed instructions may include:
- a "To Complete This Transaction" link to take you to a secured server at PayPal, or
- detailed instructions for making payment by check or money order, sent by regular U.S. postal mail.
Please be sure to follow all the instructions to complete your order. If you don't complete the transaction as instructed, then we can't send your book(s)!
- In order to keep an item in "Reserve," we must receive your payment within 10 days after you place your order. Books ship within 2-3 days of payment.
- You can use PayPal to pay for your purchase with your Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express credit card, or with your checking account by eCheck, or with your existing PayPal account.
- Do not forget to click the "Submit" button to reserve what Item(s) you want!
Part Four: Stock Numbers
The stock numbers are the ID's we use for our books because some of the books we carry don't have an ISBN or LCCN number. The stock numbers are mostly for our reference and for back end programming. But (since people have asked) this is what they basicaly mean.
- Stock numbers used can be the ISBN or LCCN, EIN, UPC, Model Number, Manufacture or Publisher Number, or something I made up to identify the book in the database.
- At the Non-Fiction catalog, stock numbers are coded to indicate whether a book is a hard cover or a paperback title. Our stock numbers are alpha-numaric.
- A stock number beginning with bk- indicates that the book is a hard cover or an oversized soft cover/trade paperback.
- A stock number beginning with ???pb- indicates that the book is a paperback (where "???" is a prefix indicating genre, e.g., "hispb" is historical and "polpb" is political).
- At the Shop Harlequin catalog the stock numbers are (H?-####) the publishers two letter imprint code and the series number.
- The Romance imprint is represented the series number or ISBN.
- At DLS-Antiques stock numbers can be anything and may not make sense at all.
- Or they can be a model number or UPC code. I don't try to be unreasonable.
